I’m Rebecca Fordon. Before I was a librarian I practiced as a corporate bankruptcy attorney, which is where I first got interested in how technology changes legal work.

I teach legal research, legal writing, and legal technology, and I speak often on generative AI in the law. Much of my writing since 2023 has been about one question: if AI can make things up, how should lawyers, students, and librarians work with it? That led to essays on hallucinations and retrieval-augmented generation, to classroom experiments, and eventually to building my own small tools, most of them over evenings and weekends.

Since 2023, I've been writing at AI Law Librarians, a group blog I co-founded with fellow law librarians. My posts from that site are republished here with their original dates.

This is a personal site. Some of the tools I describe were built for courses. Opinions here, including reviews of research products, are mine and not my employer's.
